Hyatt Place San Antonio-Northwest/Medical Center

“An affordable hotel with free breakfast and a convenient location (right in the Northwest Medical Center, situated between the La Cantera area and Downtown), Hyatt Place San Antonio-Northwest/Medical Center has (almost) everything someone traveling on a budget could ask for. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean, and amenities were passable. They have an outdoor pool and free gated parking as well (with reservation, of course). My only complaint is that the shower in my room was really small, pressure inconsistent, and was almost impossible to use because when I pulled up the bath faucet plug, the water did not get redirected to the shower head. It took about five minutes of fighting with it to finally work, and even still, I’m not sure why it did. All in all though, it’s a pretty solid hotel.”

While sitting at the bar, I had the opportunity to watch him interact with every guest who walked through the doors, and I was genuinely impressed. He greeted everyone with warmth, professionalism, and the kind of respect and customer service that is rare to find these days, especially during evening hours. You can immediately tell that Jamal loves what he does and takes great pride in creating a welcoming experience for every guest. He made sure everyone was taken care of, clearly explained the hotel amenities, and even offered thoughtful recommendations for places to eat nearby. He handled each interaction with patience, confidence, and genuine kindness. Exceptional hospitality deserves to be recognized, and Jamal absolutely deserves it. He is a true asset to this hotel and the kind of employee who leaves a lasting positive impression. Thank you, Jamal, for setting the standard for outstanding service.”

“This is a very well run property. My wife and I stayed here for a week as we had a family member in a local hospital for that time frame. Alma at the front desk went above and beyond to make us comfortable for the week. The property is very clean and well maintained. Rooms are updated and spacious. The free breakfast provides many different options. There are 3-4 excellent restaurants and bars walking distance from the property. The hotel itself is quiet and at the end of a cul de sac. As a Hyatt discoverist member this hotel offered more than I could ask for in terms of amenities. The price was excellent value and I would recommend over any other 3-4 star hotel in the area.”

“Here is some customer service for you... I have only ever stayed at the Hyatt when going to SAT for work and was there 3 times last year. On my last trip, I misplaced my smart watch. I have tracked it here and there since with no success. I got a ping on it today IN THE HOTEL. I called immediately. The GM has been working on this for 2 hours. I gave her screenshots of location and details on it. She checked the lost and found and spoke with her staff and nothing on it. I just got a message from her stating they strive for best service and satisfaction. They will continue to look but is sending a new one to me from Amazon today and hope that I will continue to choose them when I visit. I was NOT expecting all of that and very grateful. I will continue too book with yall for sure. Thank you Hyatt and the GM, Stephanie!”
